lowering kits are only like 40 bucks max. I want to lower mine too. I hear the rear is easy. The front takes a bit more work. But the answer to your quetion YES.

That's the kit I used back in 05......
IMO it does not drop the front enough....I ended up removing the spring end pads off of the front spring and moving all of the spacers to the underside of the spring mount.

Hi aboatguy, i am planning to lower my 1986 with the same kit. Do you have more info regarding the work you did to the front end? How much did that lower the front end?
I don't know if one that big will fit in the C4 seats!!
no, get three skinny girls...two can fit in the pass seat and one on your lap (better weight distribution)
before you lower your vette, be sure the places and roads you're gonna go over won't cause the tires to play ugly with the fenders, or the frame and FLOOR PANS meeting the road.
best way to lower the front is not to mod the spring but (somewhat more work) drop the bumper/hood/etc over the frame horns.

I think that would require a note from my wife!
That sounds like a lot more work. Can you point me in the direction of some instructions for such an undertaking?

no actual step-by for this, get a Service Manual that has written front fascia removal procedure and/or the Gm parts book that has 'blow-ups', remove the front fascia/impact bar...just removing the oem hood shims, and extending the slots for impact bar mounting, in the front frame plate will drop 1/2''+ for most c4's...slightly more drop by minor bend down of the frame horns just ahead of the anti roll bar (see your local frame shop or DIY using a 20 ton bottle jack/steel beam/chains under the car)...more than abt 1'' nose job should chop the frame horns ahead of the anti-roll bar, relocate frame horn lower (brings the radiator down at same time to avoid 'wedgie')...not as much work as it sounds, and pretty much just cosmetics (no suspension design, ground clearance under engine/trans/ floorpans) so 'no rules'.

You can't body drop a c4. (AKA channeling for you ole timers)
With just the front body dropped how do you figure the hood and side fenders will line up? You would either have to twist it and have a horrible body line between the hood, fender and door. or you would have to drop the rear of the hood, and the fender 3/4" lower then the door.
That will not work. The car would look broke in the middle. Not only would the body panels be horribly mis-aliened, But I'm pretty sure you would have some serious issues with the front inter fenders, headlight accys, and the L98's would hit the hood.
All around that is a bad idea and wont work. The only possible way it could even work is if you could re-angle the body down and tilt the front of the hood down. Since the C4 is a unibody car, I see no possible way to lower the body.
If you must be lower then the stock springs and trick can get you then swap to coil overs or even air springs. Air ride tech make a C4 corvette kit that uses firestone 2500's up front F9000 sleeve bags in the rear for $1700. Set you frame on the ground when ever you like, lift it higher then stock to go over bumps .
A word of CAUTION. It is critical, if you slice off the metal backings of the spring that you use GOD's VERY BEST glue to attach those little bity insulation pads. Get the right glue firs!!
Because, if your spring rides on the steel you will be on the way to destroying your spring. AND!!! The guy who sells the cheap kit also sells the expensive replacement springs.
Knocking the "tabs" off the ends of the spring is harmless, just be sure to leave a bit of ribber and put some grease on the lower a arms.
