check and clean your ground wire to your engine block. If you can find it. I hear its another part of a no start when hot. my car does the same thing. That damn ground is a bastard to get to
Well I decided to bite the bullet and I bought a mini starter from summit and a heat wrap / blanket thing. Hopefully that takes care of everything. Ill keep everyone posted!
WTF?? There should be no reason to get a shock from any metal part of the engine. The battery ground cable is attached to the block and any metal engine component is bolted to the block.
Are you touching a spark plug wire at the same time as the plenum? Or at least getting very close to one? Plug wires carry high voltage and you could be feeling some sort of stray voltage coming off a wire.
By the way, I think I found the short. There is a small capacitor that is attached to my ignition coil. I have no idea why but its an aftermarket Accel Supercoil. There is a ground on this capacitor that isn't properly grounded. My question is what is this capacitor doing?
Not trying to read to much into your information. The first thing you said car would not start hooked jump box to it and then it started. Then latter you say you felt a shock when you touched something. I would not go any futher before I checked connections at the battery starter and the grounds going to the block and frame I would take the battery connections off to check them every other connection I would wiggle and pull. I would even do a voltage drop to them all. I think you have a loose connection or voltage drop on your ground or positive cable. Just by reading your post.
