I am getting my wheels polished and want to remove the sensors. Can anyone tell me how to do this without damaging them? I don't really need them as I check my tire pressure often. I don't want to deal with the issues of balancing that I have read others have. I am also removing the warning light from the DIC. TIA

Re: Wheel Sensor Removal (robblk90)
Going off memory, they are attached to the rim by a metal band that fits around the circumference (sp?) of the rim. You remove the band by unscrewing a screw not unlike you woiuld undo a normal hose clamp.
If you haven't had the tyres off before, the wheel sensors should be located 180 degrees from the valve stem. Tell whoever is dismounting the rims that so they don't stick the sensor with the mounting equipment (in case you want to sell/reuse the sensors later). Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here.
