I really would like to lower my car for an more aggressive stance. But I'm wondering how much if any, this would hurt me at the track as far as weight transfer.
Re: How much does lowering affect weight transfer? (Midnight)
I don't see why it should hurt you. It should actually help, since you lowered the center of gravity. The car should respond better. However for regular roads and parking lots, you may bottom out and hit speed bumps if it's too low.
Re: How much does lowering affect weight transfer? (Springer's 95)
Don't go too low. You want the lower A arms to be level or slightly up at the ends. If the lower A arm is at a downward angle, the spindle being the end piece, that is bad. :seeya
Re: How much does lowering affect weight transfer? (Goody)
Its really more complex. it varies directly upon how much weight you have up front, the running of drag springs/shocks *90/10s* and so on. But normally, for the best traction at the track, you really do not want to lower the front end much at all
Re: How much does lowering affect weight transfer? (BBA)
If you lower the rear alone, it will help weight transfer AND handling.
I disagree with that statement. It makes the car handle much much worse. Sort of likes to wander too much. Let's not even talk about allowing more air up under the car at freeway speeds and beyond. Seen those LeMans blowovers on the race channel?? No thanks....

I completely disagree with that part. I lowered my rear last year and it handled much better even without an alignment. I then put it back up to stock for winter.

This I agree with. I would want to lower the front the same amount as the rear only in order to keep the rake.
Re: How much does lowering affect weight transfer? (Goody)
I just thought about what you are saying...
YOU can be right about your car because it's a 93...which has the softer rear end, and weight transfered to the back makes the rear too slushy.
Mine, on the other hand, has too hard of a rear suspension ( pre 88 year models do )...so the extra weight on the back makes it ride/handle/hook better.
