Basically what it does is, at 300RPM's or lower, it fires off multiple sparks, rather than one, which results in crisper throttle response and better combustion of fuel mixture. Above 300 RPM's, it fires off one high energy spark, once again to allow more power through a more efficient combustion cycle. That being said, on a stock motor, you won't notice any gains from installing it...stay with the stock HEI setup, and invest in more beneficial performance mods (cat back exhaust, K&N air filter, cam, 1.6 RR, etc.)that will give you a "seat of the pants" feel. IMO, if you did like your buddy says, you'll be PO'd because you spent almost $200 for nothing noticeable.

Is it under 300 RPM's? My car never runs under 300 RPM's....
After the tune up Ill mainly be saving for the TPIS mini ram complete set. I got a 1990 L98 carefree motor. I am looking more for better fuel mileage then power. If I gain more HP with upgrading them it nothing more then a plus.
