Default Targa bracket inserts...

Has anyone ever replaced these on a C4?

http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductD...GR-SR&CTitle=&

I bought a set from Mid-America, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how they're supposed to fit in the brackets. The inserts have a rubber "arrow" on them that appears to be designed as if it is to be inserted into a hole somwhere, but there is just no hole to be found inside the bracket. Are they supposed to be glued in somehow?

Perhaps if someone could post a close up picture of their bracket with the insert installed, I would be sincerely appreciative.

Thanks!

Ron

I have never taken mine out but from experience with other trim it looks like there should be a slot at the back. Lube the arrow part and slip it in place.

I bought a set too. Never did figure out how
they went in. I thought I had ordered the
wrong parts. I gave up and they have been
sitting in a box ever since.

I'm a little miffed about it. When I got them in the mail, my first thought was "How in the world are these little things going to do anything for protecting the top when it's in the bracket?". Not only that, they just plain don't fit anywhere in the bracket. There litterally is no hole inside the bracket for the arrow to slide into. I see there are a number of vendors online selling these things and they appear to be a rip-off.

I think I'll shoot Mid-America an e-mail and see what they have to say.

I pulled mine out and no mounting hole. I bet if you cut the arrow off and glue them in with 3M trim adhesive they will work just fine.
