I always thought the LL stood for the Long Life version of the bulb and had nothing to do with brightness? I think within each manufacturer there are different "grades" which might be different brightness or color value (like sylvania silverstar vs standard).

I switched to LED to get brighter brake lights....jury is still out on them.

Nevermind, I just re-read your post. I understand what you are saying.

Looks like they are 40 vs. 32 candlepower.

I don't think you're gonna get an incandescent to do brighter than LED's anytime soon, at least not plug and play. I love my LED's.

I too switched to LEDs but Im sure a brighter bulb would still be better than stock. I say go for it.

My view was, since I never want to have to take those things out again I just bought the LEDs so they would never need replacing. They look cool too.

They are called HALO LED Tail Lights

My cell phone took crappy pics they are much cooler in person. If you have a third brake light I replaced mine with a 9" LED strip to match the tail lights. It fits in between the plastic lens and the holder for the old bulbs. Ill see if I can borrow my fiance's camera tonight or tomorrow to get some better pics.
