i'm not very engine handy, so to get to the valves i remove the cover, then the crossfire?
You need a shop manual, tools and experience to solve your problem. And a bucket of money.
I am the first one to suggest the "do it yourself" approach, but based on the contents of this thread, you need a pro. My 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth.
Thanks guys, we talked to somebody recently and he said something about the lifters (best case scenario possibility) needing to be lubricated, would this be a cause as well?
Not even close. Oil inside the engine lubes lifters.
Rule of thumb:
If you run an engine out of oil while driving, and filling it back up with oul results in residual noises, motor is junk and a full overhaul is often the only fix.
The above would also apply to any fluid needed for cooling. Oil, Coolant, transmission fluid, rear end lube. If a drivetrain part runs dry in operation, it burns itself up.

Your lifters as well as all internal parts are lubricated by the engine oil. Stop and listen to the guys here they know what they are saying, it sounds like you have some real issues, search out someone you can trust to help. good luck.
