Default Post 1988 Front Suspension

I familiar with the fact that Chevrolet improved on the C4 front suspension in 1988. I also know that the improvement was in geometry. My question is exactly where in the suspension did this improved geometry occur? For instance, was the geometry an improvement in the design of the cradle...was it the a-arms? Or...?

The reason I'm asking is I'm building an Everett-Morrison kit car and it uses C4 suspension. I currently have a 1986 cradle and suspension and I'm wondering if I can gain some improvement by going to a post 1988 set-up.

from what I can tell by looking at the two side by side is the A-arms are different and the uprights are also different. Everything else looks the same just by eyeballing it. It might not be if you got to measuring it all out.
