Default Rear Hatch Release

My 84 C4 rear hatch release only releases with the yellow button in the console. Neither door release is working, but did before, and my Haynes manual doesn't address the issue. Is there a common point that I can troubleshoot? I have searched the forums, but nothing comes up on this exact problem. Thanks

turn on the interior lights using the headlight switch and try the door switches, if they work then the interior light delay module is faulty

I was having the exact same issue with my '91 and after I replaced my door switches (because the interior lights were flickering), all of sudden, the hatch switch on the driver's door started working!

In an old thread someone suggested the cheapest way to solve the related problem of the courtesy lights not working was just twisting together the three white wires. Will this also solve the hatch door releases not working?

Thanks! John

Best way to fix it is to repair or replace the Courtesy Light Delay Module. A rebuilt board is available for $40.

Wilcox, a Corvette Forum supporting vendor has the boards for $40. Here is their offering. http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=26953

You can also find the complete module on eBay or the C4 parts section here. Finally, Ecklers, Corvette Central and Corvette America off the complete module.
