Default What Springs, Etc?

I have the engine out of my LT4 and plan to do a cam swap. I am looking at max lift of 0.536 and think that may max out the stock LT4 springs.

What is a good aftermarket spring to use?

Locks?

Retainers?

I plan to keep the stock valves and go with Comp Pro Mag lifters.

Any ideas. Lloyd Elliot suggested Crane Double Springs 99893 and Comp 10 deg retainers and locks. Do I really need the 10 deg retainers?

Part #'s for use with 99893 springs.http://http://cranecams.com/pdf/Page633-634.pdf

If your interested I've got a brand set of new "LT4 hot cam" valve springs, locks & retainers I bought off of CF member Firevette in the F/S section about a year ago. I never installed them and they are still in the same box they were shipped in. I went with a different way with my setup so they are just sitting on the shelf. Give'em to you cheap if you want them. I believe they are good to .540 if I remember right.

I am pretty sure they are the same springs, etc that came on the LT4. 540 doesn't give me enough wiggle room.

I need a bit more lift myself.

Tip - wait to order your roller rockers until you have choosen/ gotten your spring set and your sure of the OD of your new springs. OD of a spring will often vary with higher spring tension ratings.

Unless someone talks me out of it I will go with the Crane 99893 doubles. Crane 99630 10 deg titanium retainers and locks.

I was looking at the new Crane Ultra Pro Mags but they don't list an application for 7/16 for the LTX. I may have to use 3/8. I have to buy new rocker studs eitherway.

I'd go with beehive springs from Comp. Lighter weight which results in better valve control. CompCams can set you up with the right part numbers.
