speed sensor?
I have a 93 coupe.
I set the cruze the other night and the car surged up and down in speed. I have also noticed the speedo is jumping up and down about 1 or 2 miles an hour on a flat road with a steady pedal.
I checked and have no codes.

Likely neither ECM or VSS. A '93 still I believe had a servo and a couple vacuum switches. There's considerable diagnostics involved for sorting an earlier servo controlled cruise control. Of course now "anything" is possible!
