just started missing and "studdering"
Came back from lunch and the 85 started missing under load. Idle is jumping around 570 to ~800. At steady speed it not to bad, but you can feel and hear it thru the exhaust that somethings not right. Just had a Major tune up 2k ago. I know its not hte cat. I just put on a set of new mufflers but theyseem to be flowing ok. You can feel the skip in the exhaust. Any ideas before I start playing the change game? :confused:

Had a similar problem with my 89. Turned out to be the ECM was bad. One other thing it did (other than the missing and stuttering) was the mileage and average mpg readouts went squirrelly.
Maybe you got some bad gasoline or your fuel filter is going. I'd fix those two before doing anything else. Change your fuel filter and then run some Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner through your system.
