Default How do I replace the lightbulbs in the dash?

I have an 89, and have the trim piece off at the moment. Would like to know how to replace the lightbulbs. I see little metal pieces....are they under there....and if so, do I just pry those off, or what?

thanks.

The lamps are under the round metal blanks, and it is possible to replace them by removing them that way. It is difficult to remove them though, and the old bases will remain. It is better to remove the gauge cluster and open it from the back to expose the lamp bases. Any lamps you buy will come with the bases anyway. While you are in there, you can clean the contacts and check for cracked solder connections. There is a link on www.battee.com to this repair, with some good tips on checking for bad grounds, etc.. Don't get overwhelmed by all the info there. Once you have the replacement bulbs in hand, just take the time and dive in. The results are rewarding. Good Luck.
