I stand corrected. My light is still coming on. I guess I have not been below 25% throttle for some time now. Ha. I thought the CAGS was for GM to stay within the CAFE regulations and avoid the gas guzzler tax at the time.

I'm lost since there is really nothing to install. The "eliminator" is just a set of weather proof caps that cover the ends of the connector leading to the solenoid. Once disconnected the solenoid is inoperative unless you live in "The Twilight Zone."

That's true for cars before the '96 ODBII system went into production.
For '96 and newer, the eliminator contains a resistor to prevent an SES warning light and code being set.

Damn. I put 1 on my car 14 years ago and my 1 to 4 light always comes on. However I was (and still am) so glad to get rid if that damn solenoid, it wouldn't bother me if the horn played rap music each time I shifted out of 1st.
