Default replacing throttle body on LT1

I am upgrading my TB from the stock to a bored stock of 52mm. Do I need to reset any of the electronics for the TPS or anything else when I do this? The FSM says "If the throttle body is replaced, the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) must learn the Throttle Position (TP) sensor idle position voltage with new components installed. This is necessary to ensure effective engine torque reduction during traction control events. The procedure requires a T-1 (Tech 1) or T-100 (CAMS) unit and will be described using a Tech 1." ??? Thanks

Sounds complicated! Did you need to port out your intake manifold, or is the stock 52mm on the LT1?

I've never had to do any of the reset's like they recommend. Just install it and let'er rip! If there's any issue then just pull the positive battery cable wait 30 sec and the reconnect to wipe / reset some of the ECU content.

You may want to consider an adjustable TPS sensor and a sensor probe kit. I can't remember where I got them but check the typical Corvette suppliers or Ebay.

Stock factory bore on LT1 intake is 52mm. The stock TB is 48mm. So no need to bore. Boring is only necessary when upgrading to 58mm or larger.

Thanks! I wonder if a 52mm is worth it on a stock motor (or with light mods)

Thanks for the info. I was baffled by the FSM. You are right about a 48mm TB being more than enough for stock, but I hope to do a LE 1 cam & heads this winter with headers, I have read several articles that a TB switch with those mods is good for about 14 hp so I am doing it now just to be ahead of the game a little. No I'm not boring the intake. But I did buy a stock TB that was bored to 52mm because I have heard lots of bad things about aftermarket TBs with a idle circuit different from the stock TB and thus they are hard to get to idle right. Hope that makes sense.

When I replaced mine, all I did was bolt it on. One thing you might consider is getting a bigger MAF sensor housing. As far as air flow, this will be a "choke point". So, even though your getting a bigger TB, you'll only get as much air as the MAF housing will allow. I got mine from Ecklers.

Chad thanks for the suggestion but my 93 doesn't have the MAF, different computer. I already cut the lid on the filter box, can't tell any difference but its supposed to help.
