FYI to those who might be interested...Jegs sent me an E-Mail Ad today and featured the new Self-Tuning setup for TPI, and conversions. I'd heard it was comming, but at $875 it's a good bit higher than I'd hoped.

Ok I know Im gonna get smacked for this.. but I cant help it. the crossfire set up is two TBI units on an admittedly poor manifold... this much prettier unit is still a TBI unit. One is "the biggest POS on the planet" according to some and the new pretty anodized version is the Holy grail.. how can this be?
in the final analysis you are still squirting fuel above the plenum into the airflow as opposed to directly into each cylinder. I can see this being an option for a carbed engine, but to replace the TPI with it? (since you cant really change manifolds that much, the edelbrock performer is the only one that fits under the hood and thats idle to 5500 rpm same as TPi)
Now to upgrade the electronics of a TPI system, the painless performance street rod setup for TPI engines looks like it might be a good option, it has the "ecm" and all wiring etc, and I think it "self tunes" to a degree and it converts the system form a MAF to a speed density sensor I think.
Yea, that's the one... for TPI. CHP Magazine ran an article about their setups a while back, and the self-tuning aspect sounded pretty good; especially how it worked well with big cams and short LSAs'. It would be nice for the guys doing single-plane intakes, but I still wish it weren't so expensive.
