Default Lower radiator hose

I am in the process of changing the t-stat, the upper radiator hose, lower radiator hose, serpentine belt, and new coolant. The last step in this little weekend project is getting to the lower radiator hose clamp. Do I have to remove the belt tensioner or is there an easier way to remove it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you need to remove the tensioner.

Also, it is a good idea to replace the clamps too if you aren't already doing that. I like the ABA hose clamps.

What hoses did you get and what stat? I was able to get the GM OEM hoses before they were gone on my 89.

I bought the kit from Corvette Central or Ecklers for 99 bucks. It came with the sepentine belt, upper and lower radiator hoses, 190 degree thermostat, and gasket. Can't wait to get it installed.
