OK Mine did the same thing after I adjusted the timing. So here's what i did to "fix" it.(I hope this was the right thing to do.) I cleaned the TB plates with throttle body spray cleaner. Then I put it in diagnostic mode by jumpering the ALDL. Turned the key to on position. I waited for the IAC motor to step all the way out. I waited about 30 seconds to make sure it was there. Then turned off the ignition. Unplugged the IAC motor. Started the car and let it go into closed loop. (Don't worry if SES lights...It's supposed to.) Adjusted the idle speed screw for 550 in neutral. (Mine is a 6 speed) Then checked the TPS to make sure I had .54 ti .61 volts. All was well. So I plugged the IAC back in. Unhooked the battery to clear codes. Started the car. Let it go into closed loop again without any long idle times. Made a HARD second gear pass and some normal driving so the computer could relearn and VAHROOM it's running great with normal idle.
