86 digital instrument panel gremlin
I have an 86 with an instrument panel that is acting up. First, it had everything functioning but no movement in the digital readout. Everything stayed at the max level. Now the digital numbers do not register. Does anyone have experience with this or is it just trashed with no chance but to buy a refurbished unit. Any help would be gladly appreciated. :confused:

No schematics or parts are available , and this is a fairly complicated two circuit boards. There are a number of repair centers that will exchange these boards or will repair yours. If the LCD's are ok, then repair costs are about $200. Dayton (Oh) Speedometer repairs them and if you look in the archives, some other places are mentioned. I think http://www.batee@umr.edu also lists some repair centers and info on some repairs.
