Default Help...Where Are The Block Drains?(L98)

Time for a cooloing system flush. The manual doesn't tell me where to look for the block drains. Is it really necessary to drain the block or can I drain all I can from the radiator, refill with water, run engine (thermostat is removed right now), drain, and then repeat the process a few more times?
Thanks for the help.

Get a fush kit from the auto parts store it will have a adapter to the heater hose, and will include a can of flush fluid.

You most definetly need to remove both knock sensors if you want to do a through job. By just drainig the radiator, that's all you're doing...just the radiator. The knock sensors are located on the right side and left side below the exhaust manifolds and about half way back on the block. There is a shield over each one and it takes a 7/16 and extention to pull off the shields. (I just removed the shields yesterday to retorque the headers)......Getting the ratchet in there to loosen the sensors is tight but not impossible with some good tools. Besure to remove both as each sensor drains only that side of the block.

:yesnod: :)

I also remove the lower radiator hose and let water from the hose run through it for about 20 minutes.

I'm guessing this 20 min flush goes down the sewer, that seem okay? Anyone?

That's for you to decide. I guess it depends on how long your arms are or how big the tree is.
