I just installed a set of Bosch III injectors from FIC in my 1990 Corvette convertible, replacing the original Multecs. The improvement in performance is remarkable. The car now idles and accelerates smoothly, without any miss, and seems to have more power. Don't let anyone fool you about ease of installation, tho. The video on the Sticky suggests it can be done in an hour - not if you're like me!!! It took me about 8 hours altogether, and I ran into a LOT of problems not mentioned in any of the "how-to's" or the instructional video. If you've ever installed new plugs in one of these guys and seen how tough it is to get to some of those plugs, just multiply that experience several times. The engineers who designed these cars clearly didn't have any consideration for those who would have to work on them later. I'm glad I installed them, now that it's done. Jon at FIC was very helpful. Thanks.....
Just got off the phone with them. Very nice people to deal with. were you having problems or just decided to change them. I'm thinking about ordering a set also.
I ordered my injectors from FIC also, great company I work at a parts store and I get a discount on all of my parts and FIC was able to beat the best deal I could get at work. That and they really know what they are doing. I would recommend them to everyone
I was having problems. When idling, the car "rocked" a little, definitely missing. When accelerating from a stop, the car would jerk (a little). I read a lot on this forum and became convinced that it was the Multec injectors, and that FIC was the vendor to get them from. I learned a LOT doing the job. Keep close track of all the little parts - I recommend a ziploc bag to put clips, bolts, etc. in. Not all of the runner bolts are the same length, so use a system to keep track of which bolt goes where. Be prepared to encounter bolts that are very, very difficult to get to. Just don't be in a hurry. Remember that the runners and plenum are aluminum, and I guess the bolts are too, because if they used steel bolts in an aluminum part, you could expect electrolysis and the aluminum would break down. (a magnet won't pick up any of the runner bolts) The bolts I'm talking about are Torx bolts - it doesn't take much to strip out the torx fittings. I took digital photos of various setups before I took them apart, although I didn't have to look at the pictures afterwards. I knew I had them if needed. I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself "only two more bolts to go." I finally got them out only to see two more that were just as difficult or more so. All in all, it was worth it. I bought the entire kit, which included the gaskets and extra O-rings. I didn't use all the extras, but it was nice to have them there if I screwed something up. At $200 for the kit, it was a tremendous bargain. Jon's the man!!!
Yeah those Multecs are real crap, they only lasted 20 years and were probably totally neglected. Now , how long are your rebuilt injectors guaranteed?
Good question. If I remember my purchase of Bosch III from FIC was 1 year, but I bet that is not cast in stone.
This is the first somewhat critical post of FIC I have ever read.
So, may I ask you, How long were your Multecs guaranteed for, 20 years ago.
Watch the videos, compare prices, support with email and telephone.
There is no comparison. IMHO

Well I suppose congratulations are in order. As for me, I just replaced my Multecs a few weeks ago with the Bosches from FIC and I am waayyyy more satisfied with every aspect of the car's performance at this point. I'll second the OP's sentiments...good products, good people. And really, congrats again on your outstanding Multecs, everyone else on here must have just got the ones built on a Friday

theres no kool-aid There are just parts wearing out and people needing replacements. Most guys do not want to re-finance their homes and spend close to $1000.00 for a new set of injectors that were manufactured 20 yrs ago. Seems stupid to me. So for 169 you can get a stainless steel injector made to run close to 1 million miles that is warranted by us for 3 yrs. It used to be 1 yr but they rarely go bad. The Multec was a good injector and unfortunately they will fail someday. I hope that day never comes for you as I don't think you can take the loss. Please keep posting your childish comments as it is good for our sales. FYI we have sold 3,245 sets of Bosch 3's just from the CF forum. 1,945 From the third gen, 1127 from corvette Guru. and another 1761 sets that I can't account for. Not bad for a koolaid drinking old injector salesmen. Keep is up!

FIC awesome vendor from first contact, answering concerns, and tech support for final install. Also never misses a thread where injectors are concerned, offering advise etc. Thanks Jon
Bought a set from FIC yesterday. Come on guys, this is as close to a no-brainer as you can get.
Was talking to my mechanic Wednesday. When I said I could get a complete set and gaskets for $200, he was stunned, since he just finished doing that same replacement job on an 89 for $150 per injector!

Of course the Multecs are wearing out they are over 20 years old. Of course performance is better with fully working injectors of any kind. Of course there have been technical advances in the last 20 years. Of course no one in their right mind would spend $1000 for 8 fuel injectors.
However, for someone to say injectors that they have had in there car for 20 years are crap, and that a rebuilt injector that they have used for a few days is somehow magical is just ludicrous!
If a person wants to run rebuilt Ford parts in their Corvette that's O K with me! Go for it.

FIrst of all FORD has never made an injector. They are made by Bosch. Its the same injector in a Porsche, BMW, Rover and some small Mercedes. So enough with the slander. Plus if you want these brand new, we sell them. As far as performance with these. New technology and better atomization makes a difference. But, you would not know because you have not used them, so to say they don't work better is ludicrous. We are here to help the corvette community, It's my hobby also. So, we appreciate the praise we get from our customers. We also appreciate the business. We return that appreciation with outstanding service and very affordable pricing. We have not raised the price of these injectors in 3 years.

For perspective...I also have a multitude of Full Size Jeeps, one of which is an all original 84 Grand Wagoneer with less than 70K on it. And it's on the original tires...can you believe some MORONS out there have actually REPLACED their original tires??!! I bet some of them have even used FORD tires!! Oh wait, those are just Firestones, that's called an "OEM" part.
Seems kinda retarded when you look at it like that doesn't it??

I was wondering when the name calling would start. I'll be glad to exchange IQ scores with you. Even those who aren't particularly politically correct don't call others retarded. That's pretty crude even for a car forum.

Oh lighten up. Would it make you feel better if I referred to YOUR LOGIC (not YOU) as "faulty" or "foolish?" And by the way, put away the measuring sticks, pal.
Bottom line is, new injectors are better that old injectors and FIC is the place to get 'em. Deal with it.
