Default Do these dyno #'s make sense?

Track time picked up .5 and 5mph. Dyno #s only picked up 25hp and actually
lost 26ft lbs peak. Traction is really good, using M&H's.
S/R Torquer heads+ZZ3 cam = rpm hp torq. air/fuel
3000 187 330
3500 218 325
4000 242 320 (13.51@100mph)
4500 248 235
5000 235 205

AFR190 + Ling. 219 cam = 3200 119 196 15.1
3500 188 282 15.1
4000 229 301 12.5
4500 261 304 12.5
5000 273 286 11.9 (13.06@105)
5200 273 276 11.9
5600 263 246 12.3
5800 255 231 12.4
Both setups are with Superram and 1 5/8 Edelbrocks. Big difference in the 2 senerios. I guess comparing peak numbers really doesn't matter, but your giving up so much down low. I guess because the motor is spending more time in the upper rpm range. Does this sound right?

Nice! Torque peak moved way up. From about ~3500 to ~4500. A lot more HP and tq under the curve. Bigger curve. I hope you raised your shift points by about a grand.

CFI-EFI, yes actually I did. I got the govenor kit and tinkered with it last fall just before it went into the garage. It will rev to about 5800 and shift. Sure feels different after the AFRs and 219 went on. Now instead of hittin the wall at 4500, it feels more like passing gear is kicking in. Nice rush!!

I'M JEALOUS!!! I can manually shift at any rpm. I've had mine to 6000, but there is no point. If I let it shift for itself, it'll do the 1-2 at 3400. So I HAVE to shift manually. Iwould like to re-calibrate the govenor, but I've heard horror stories about the trial and error regimen.

PS. The jealousy is over the engine, not the trans.

I didn't think it was all that bad. You'll have to change it 2 or 3 times, but stay
on the conservative side and you'd be fine. Thanks for the kudos on the motor. I'm still using a 48mm tb, 1.5 rr, and a ported stock base. I'm going to change out the tb and rockers and put a 3" exhaust on it then see where it's at. Oh yeah, how could I forget the vigilante(coming soon!!!!)

Taking the area under the power curve you would see why you are going faster even though you have lost some peak torque.

The problem I'm having with the numbers is that they seem very low. Maybe it's just me, because no one else has written anything about it, but with AFR 190s, a superram, 219 cam, and headers I would have thought you'd see more like 330-350 hp at the rear. Maybe I'm missing something? Is that SAE or actual? We are talking about a corvette here? Maybe I just don't know what that combo should be putting out?

When I had my '86 dyno'd last time, this was the setup: K&N, 58mm TB, stock plenum, SLP siamese runners, stock base, stock L98 D port heads, 355 cu in motor, AFPR, and unknown roller cam.
Maybe the cam had more to do with it than I think, but I don't think this cam was nearly as nice as a LPE219.
Anyway, it dyno'd 267 rwhp and 350 rwtq. That's about 307/402 at the crank.
My motor was almost stock as far as valvetrain and heads, that's why it seems to me your numbers are low.

Hi,
I don´t know about this, but I want almost the same setup that you already have, is the recomendation of a lot of people here !
But I always believe that will have a lot more power ?
A few mins ago, I saw the post of other member and dyno # are impresive !
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=259587
(Obvious is 383 and some other diferences)
What about the chip ? and your "restrictive " ported plenum.
I supose that there is the diference.but not 100hp.
I´m talking about supose numbers but you told us that you feel a lot of diference !, thats the important !
But I don´t undertsand, some members told me that with this setup I wil have 420 hp to the crank.
Maybe exist diference betweens dynos. or maybe this are real numbers and are not seller numbers like tuners claims.
Congratulations your time are very respectable !
This is only a comment, I know that I don´t know about this, and I wish to have your engine. I will follow this post to learn, thanks for the oportunity.
I can´t wait to know what are the conclusions of the big guys (teachers)
Regards
