On the drivers side kick panel, there are 2 large gauge wires and a connector, I think they are green and yellow or purple....I cant remember exactly. They are twice as thick as the reg wires. Just pull apart the connector and jumper it there with your jumper method of choice. If you decide to replace the switch, it is very hard to get to and you may have to pull out the pedal assembly, as it is clear at the top where you cannot even see it from underneath.
BTW I climbed underneath and just took this pic of what I believe to be the clutch switch. Its a good half inch from even touching the clutch pedal! Is this wrong??
Minky...,that is not the clutch switch, that is the cruise disengage switch. You will not be able to see the clutch switch. In the area to the left of your feet and up, there should be 2 really thick wires, one is green w/ a white stripe and the other is yellow (you made me go look). Pull the connector (this unhooks the switch) and put in a jumper or cut the connector off and twist the wires together. Good luck.
When you unplug the clutch safety switch, put a jumper wire across the two terminals on the plug. Measure the voltage on the jumper wire to ground and try a crank, you should have 12v on the jumper. If you don't, then you may have VATS problems. I will post how to check this when you tell us if you had 12v on the jumper.
