Lemme upload a few pics for you. I went with the 2302 tach with the shift lite. I love it!! I mounted mine where mackeyred96 mentioned. You'll also get reliable readings. Stock one crapped out on mine.

Here's the one I bought. It's an Autogage 3 3/4 face with a small red shift light built in. Reads to 8000rpms. I eventually mounted mine to my dash by glueing it down with a little black rtv. If you want to remove it you can just peel the rtv off the dash and have no holes. It's a very nice tach and a good price. Part # is 2302.
