My EM brake cable, on the driver side behind the driver door, is hanging down under the frame about 1 1/2 -2 inches. I looked under and tried to insert it back into the hole in the frame where it came from. It will not go back in at all. It seems that it has nowhere to go. It looks stupid and out of place. What is going on here?
Also my oil pressure guage redlines to the end at anything above an idle. I have bought a new sending unit but cant locate the sending unit under the hood. Where is it?
Thanks to anyone who replys to these brain twisting questions
If it's a convertible, you can unbolt the x-brace and fit it up under that...
The sending unit is on the back of the block, on top, behind the diftributor. It's on a small steel manifold (on my '86). The easiest way to get to it is to remove the windshield wiper motor (only 3 bolts and 1 nut) and you can see and get to it.
Re: Emergency Brake Cable Sticking out. Help! (Rich B.)
Thanks Rich, I should have mentioned that mine is a 1992 and does not have a Distributer (Dreaded optiscrap) :nonod:. (See sig)
It is a convertible but why undo the X brace to put it back? . Would this mean that it has been off before and the cable not returned to its original location?

On my car, the x-brace has to come off to get the fuel filter out. (Well, one of the x pieces, anyway). Damn cable always sproings out...I stick my cable on the outside of the aluminum block and next to the body seam, under the x-brace...
My parts book only goes up to '91, but that had the oil sensor in the back of the block, too. On L98's at least...
