Default 86 horns

Both my horns are shot. I took them off, hard to read the part # but they are Delco-Remy. One is called A, the other is C. I assume dual pitch setup. None of the parts stores around here can find a replacement. Has anyone gone through this with any suggestions?

I have an 87 that developed the same problem. The original equipment type are unavailable. The type I got at a dealership is the same as you will see in the catalogs. Both horns are the same pitch and it is an embarassment to hit the horn button. You can get a cheap replacement at several of the chain parts stores. That'll make you legal. My only suggestion is to disconnect the old ones at the harness plug only; do not cut the harness wiring to connect the new horns. Save the old horns until you find your permanent replacement, and then figure out how you want to use what you have to connect them. GM changed the harness connectors a couple of times, and you will need both sides of the plug. I've heard tales on the web about repairing auto horns, but I doubt if ours are repairable. Good luck.
