Default Sensor identification question

Since I'm brilliant, and somehow break something every time I work on this car, I need to know what the sensor between the #1 and #3 spark plugs is. Driver's side front 2, in case I'm wrong on the numbers. Bugger snapped right off.

Stating year model helps when asking questions;
one size does not fit all
Could be Aux fan switch if 86 and later or temp gauge sender if earlier car

@$^#, knew I forgot something. It's an 88, so Aux fan. Okay, that's not real important right this second, My temps have never gotten high enough for that fan to come on. I'm not even sure it works.

FWIW
if you do replace the switch you can install a aftermarket switch to turn the Aux fan on at a lower temp but it is not a very effective fan ( too small )
