And if you do how do you like it as far as its claims? On the website,it dosent specify how fast your laptop has to be.Will a 486 run it?Any other info would be appreciated.
I use it a lot for serveral types of vehicles. Probably used more than any other prom tuning software I have. It doesn't tax a 'puter much. If you have a trouble free version of W95 or newer I think you'd be fine. You'll need the correct definition file to go with the program. I've not dove into the flash programming (I believe that's what you have??) yet so the rest of the hardware I'm not positive about. I think you'll just need the proper cable. Hopefully Glock will get in here and respond. He recently dove into the "Big Adventure." -Jeff
I use it on a Pent3 machine most of the time, but I also use my Pent2 at work I could test it out on my old 486 notebook. I don't see why it would have a problem all it does is read a small .bin file and then write back to it. Now Datamaster logging software is another story. Gears, I'm here in Tulsa if ya need any Help with this kind of thing. I'm currently tuning my 91 with Miniram, heads, cam, headers. I log all the way to work and all the way home then burn a chip, it ain't a fast process and I'm on chip number 60 or so, but I have the fuel curves perfect form idle to 25K with some minor bumps around 3k to 4k, but I''l burn a chip here at work today for that and log all over agin. Whew, probably more than you wanted to know. E-mail me if you have other questions.
Hey Red91C4,sounds like your pretty serious about getting the curve straight, and the most out of your set-up.Of course, mine dont have a prom but,I'd like to meet up with you sometime, and see a demo of how you do the things you do.Are you going to take it out to the track sometime to see what kinda results you get there?Ive got my car in the shop getting some work done(see sig)and then I have an appointment with Ed Wright to get it dyno tuned after that.I would like to get togather sometime if thats possible.Let me know.
I think it's great! I've sent them e-mails a few times about wanting another table added and they've added the table and sent me a new version in a timely manner. I've been running it on an old compaq 586-with a 166mghz proc. with 64 meg mem. without any problems. Win bin is also a great one to use for the 6e and 8d tdfs-and its free!!! But tunercat has a lot more tdfs-I've also been using tc for a friends zr1. have fun-but I think you'll find its kinda' addicting..... :D
Gears, any night of the week is good with me except Tues and Thurs. I'll show ya how to use TC and we can burn a chip, I'll show you datamaster, and fill ya in on my Wide band sensor I'm building and anyother tid bit I might have. I work 8 to 5 so evenings are good with me or Saturday eves or anytime Sunday.
Red91C4,I work nites,so it would have to be on a weekend, but we will have to get togather for sure.Does the 91 have the same size prom as the 87?I have the stock prom from my 87 if you thought you might be able to use it.

Yep, i certainly had a BIG adventure ... e-mail me if you need any specific info. I think I've been through about all you can imagine with tuning mine.
I have diacom plus to scan with.Actually, when I get my vette back,I'm going to have Ed Wright dyno tune it.I wonder if there would be any improvements to be made after that.
