I recently had my front seal replaced along with the torque coverter.
What happened was that I noticed my car was smoking alot when ever I would open my hood and underneath the car. Stroy short it was the seal as I mentioned above along with the torque converter. Well my car is doing it again. Is it the drive shaft that's off balance? I notice my car shake alot during speeds of 60,70,and worsens at 80's. I've had the wheels, tires (road force balance), new rotors, new brakes. I've done everything to get the shaking checked. No one can seem to know what is causing it. Car never has been crashed either. My suspicion is that it has to be the drive shaft considering the front seal problem. If I have to change it where can I find it? I wanted to get it balanced if it's off but I don't think they do it for aluminum shafts. Want my car to run smooth...... Any suggestions????
Thanks,

If you are thinking the driveshaft is related to your front seal problem, that would be a negative.
If your rear seal was leaking, the bushing that supports the yoke may be bad.
If you suspect the driveshaft, take it to a local shop. Aluminum shafts check the same way as steel.
They jig em
Spin um,
and record the condition.
I broke some vanes on a 2800 stall torque converter and it caused a vibration that took me forever to figure out....
I checked and balanced tires, rotors, and even had the driveshaft and half shafts checked and balanced ....in the end it was the torque converter....Good news is car is now freeking smooth even at triple digit speeds. Is your front seal leaking again?????

So if my front seal is leaking again what do you suspect? This will be my second time replacing it in less than 3 months. I replaced the torque converter as well...
yes, it is leaking again and it's been less then 3 months. What do you think? When I had the problem the first time I replaced front seal and torque converter...

The common factors are leaky front seal and vibration, correct?
When the front seal was replaced, was the pump bushing inspected or replaced?
when the bushing wears, the converter snout flops around. When this happens, vibration and leaks occur. If your car was repaired by a trans pro, shame on him if he did not replace the pump bushing.
Also, if the converter is a new, 100 dollar, off the shelf replacement, I would not rule out a crappy remanufactured converter.
There are more bad rebuilds than good out there.
so what do you guys suggest? I'm puzzled as many can't seem to find problem. My first step is to take down the drivehaft and have it checked for balancing. Then of coarse fix that seal. I will check the converter along with the pump bushings. Anybody disagree with my plan? Is there a better way of approaching this? How can I know whats wrong? I wanted to take it to a shop where they can lift it and maybe run it at a high speed having a mechanic stand under it to see whats causing vibration? Please let me know and thank you all for replying so quickly.
