84+$4K=94 (300 HP)
Please explain why people switch fuel injectors to carbs?

Gaguy, you may care that all C4's keep their fuel injection, however, a carb is a proven inexpensive surefire way to wake up an '84. The '84 is not a high pressure fuel system, so it is practically plug and play for a carb - you just lose some of the dash features - then you can say hello to ~ 2,000 more rpm of sbc fun. If he spends his $4k wisely, he can have a reliable nitrous (the '84 has forged pistons) 10 second ride.

Yes, the '84 came factory equipped with forged pistons. So they are nitrous friendly until you get nitrous greedy - then you need to go in to open up the ring end gaps and you are good to go.

All nitrous bets are off if your '84 engine has been rebuilt with non-forged pistons.

He coudl get the same thing w/a grinder too, FYI, and still retain the EFI....and save the money spent on a carb, intake, dist, and hardware in the process.

OP, put the CFI back on, port the begeezus out of it, sell the carb, intake and mech. dist that you bought, and use THAT money to buy 1.6 rockers, coverter (if youre auto), headers, and cat back. With those parts and some attention to detail, you should be in the mid-low 13's easy. And you have $4k in your pocket.
