A/C blower speed problem
On my 87, My A/C blower motor has stopped working. When I left work at 1:00 today I turned on the A/C and it seemed normal. I soon noticed that the blower motor was not running a full speed even though the setting on the electronic control was set at 10. As I drove home the motor got slower and slower until it finally stopped. The system is tight and blows very cold. It is not iced up. Sound like a blower speed control module ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

These connectors are crimped and when they get loose, there will be a voltage drop between the Motor and the Connector. That heats up the Connector and eventually it will melt, so look there first. If there's discoloration, take apart the weatherpak and solder the terminals to the wires. Motors can suck 25 amps so you want the best connection possible.
Dash input at the Module is on the Dark Brown wire and it ranges from 4volts (1 at the Controls) to 6 volts (Blower 10). Output on the Module hot side - Black/red or Purple - is 6 to 12 volts. Input but no output is a dead module.
Thanks for the help. It appears to be the blower motor and with 180K miles on a climate air car it seems about right for a failure. Now to find a blower motor for the electronic A/C system. Seems to be several for the manual A/C on ebay. If you know of any supplier for what I need please let me know. Again, Thank You very much for the help.]\
