Default anybody use this cam

Found a website with cams for sale for $130 w/LT4 hotcam type specs, since the price is so good, want to know if anybody ever use a cam from http://willhoitescams.com/

These are all used reground cams it looks to me. That isn't all bad. For a budget rebuild, this would probably work ok. For a max effort top notch build, most engine builders would prefer a new cam. I use new cams in all my engine builds.

With a reground cam, you also need to be sure to check pushrod length since the base circle is probably smaller.

Well when they talk about checking for staightness, that sounds like a used cam. All of it sounds like a reground cam. That is why the price is so low. I may be wrong, but most if not all reground cams I have seen are used cams. I think if it was brand new, it would be priced like a brand new roller cam, $250-$400. You get what you pay for, I don't think they would be selling brand new roller cams for a buck thirty!

I knew a guy back in the 80's that reground cams here locally, and all of his cams were used cams. He checked them out real close for problems, but that was his source for cam cores. And when he was done with them, they looked brand new.
