I have two sets of long tube headers for my 95 corvette that I need coated. One set has already been coated, but is slowly peeling off. The other is painted. Can anyone tell me who to use or not use, and why. I appreciate any advice from someone who has first hand experience with header coatings. Thanks, Tom
This is just my 2cents worth. Whoever you go to have the headers sandblasted locally first before you send them in. A lot of places want to do the acid wash to prep the headers. Sandblasting gives a much better finish for the coating to stick to.Seal the headers in a garbage bag and they will stay rust free on the way to the coaters. Good Luck Tim
I just had two sets of headers done by nitroplate. What attracted me was their ability to meet, and their history with, military specs and programs. MIL SPECS would require them to meet stringent requirements from prep to the actual coating process.
