Default Weekend performance?

Hello, this is my first post in this forum. I just purchased a corvette on May 15th and I love it! It is a white 1990 and I live in Orlando. So, on frida, I decided to take it to Orlando Speedworld and see how well it would run. It ran a 14.5 and a 14.2. I'm pretty please, but I want to see if I could get a little more.

So my question to you guys, is there a mod or an upgrade (of relative low cost) that I could do to maybe shave a 1/10th of a second off or two?

Thanks a lot for you info!

Read the sticky on technical FAQ at the top of the page. Look for "mods that work". Many apply to your car. There are at least 100 threads on this question. Some in the last week. Or you could look at the mods in my profile to start.

14.2 is pretty good in what was probably hot crappy air. Sticky tires may help. 1.6 rockers, underdrive pulleys are easy and not much $$$. You better save up. Once you get hooked, its heads, cam, headers and intake. Maybe nitrous.

Cut the air box lid and install K&N air filter, Remove the frisbee disc on your water pump. Open up the exhaust.

These should add 20-40chp & lower ET by .2-.4 sec.

Also, install a 160deg T-stat and open the connector in the A/C pressure line at race time to lower coolant temp.

If you do the mods to increase air flow, install an AFPR so you can bump fuel pressure so WOT fuel supply will match increased air flow.

BTW, what was your trap speed on those passes?
