Default Starter issues...again

At the end of last fall I had some mods. done to the car. SPEC clutch, alum. flywheel, complete rear end, gears...blah blah blah. So washing the car my dad accidently hit the alarm trigger on door. When he opened the door alarm when off then without thinking he jumped in the car to try to start it. ( I posted this awhile back) So when he did this it did something to the starter and the car wouldn't start.

Since then I have had 1 auto zone reman. starter on it and it lasted about 15-20 times then stopped working. I then got 2 remanufactered starters from a GM dealer. The problem with those are they don't fit correctly. When its up against the block with the short bolt in there is still about 1/4 plus a lil and the bolt is tight. I called several GM dealers and there is only one it calls for. The first one I got from GM, I put it on and click. Took it off and saw it knicked 2 of the teeth on the flywheel. I def. don't wanna chew up the teeth on my new alum. flywheel. I measured the wider part on the starter where the bolt goes and got 3 5/16". I ordered one from Auto Zone again because at least at this point it fit and worked but for how long??

Any ideas??

Well for the 25 that have viewed this thread I got the Auto Zone starter and it is 3/16" longer where I measured it so it fits like it should. Don't know what I got from GM!! I hope this one lasts!!
