I am running a c4 master cylinder to a t56 Slave and I was planning on using AN fittings and running a custom flex line. Does anyone know the size of the threads that screw into the clutch master cylinder?
I would also like to know this answer. I am doing the same thing with an 86, does anyone know if these fittings are the same? If I don't hear anything here I will take my mc to a hose making place and find out and let you know.
Wow, I took my master cylinder off and went to the hose place. They had no idea what this was, granted the place was an industrial hose making business. I may tap out the hole and buy an AN fitting to make my own hose, but if I find out what it is I will post it here.
No need to tap it out. My guess is that its an npt fitting. Russell, Earls, Summit, etc. all make NPT to AN adapter fittings. UPS Should bring my master cylinder in the next few days, so ill be able to tell. Im surprised no one knows the answer to this on here!
I can almost be 100% sure the master cylinder threads are going to be Metric M12x1 or M10x1. When I had to replace my clutch hydralics on my 90 vette 6 speed I could not find another bleeder screw for the cast iron Centric slave as the included bleeder screw would stick out and hit my floor board. I look every where to not have to void any possible warranty issues with modifing the bleeder. I finally bit the bullet and hacked the bleeder to make it fit. So far evrything works. Hopefully you have a buddy in a machine shop some where that could solve the issue

M12x1.0 is what I am leaning towards. I went through some bolts and M12x1.25 would start, but was not the thread pitch. The threads are more fine. I have the original fitting and two clutch master cyclinders and these are definitely not NPT.

My adapter to convert the master cylinder to AN4 just arrived and it is definitely M12x1.0, hope this information is helpful.
Confirmed! I just received my adapter and its M12X1.0. Good info. Thanks!! Now I just hope the c4 master has the juice to push an LS2 T56 Throwout bearing

Though I read the post got pissed and cut off m12x1.0 to the clutch master. The stock steel tube is just aboutvright for a 3an tube collar/nut. Flaring the tube is difficult because it is good quality steel. I even had vto ask marv for help...'did you try. The sand paper trick?". That and dremel grinding steps what was needed for the flare tool to grab the tube. It did split but I should still have a good seal. I wish I got it red hot first though so it wouldnt split on me.
I just used some AN-4 line from Jegs (teflon coated), 2 90 degree AN-4 fittings, one AN-4 to T-56 slave cylinder adapter and one AN-4 to M10x1 adapter. The two adapters I bought on eBay, but everything else was Jegs.
