4+3 tips needed.
My overdrive was engaging fine then started kicking out after about a minute...so guessing that it was either low on fluid or needing a service I pulled the pan and put a new filter and fluid..( officially the guy that decided to hang an auto trans under a car like the vette with no dipstick to check and maintain fluid levels...should lose his dipstick!) so it was low, and there was some friction material in the pan no metal but about a teaspoon of the material. I celaned it up and put it back together with dexron and now no engagement. Keep in mind this car had totally borked wiring and ecm so the relay for the overdrive feeds power directly to the solenoid and is controlled by the switch in the car.. no ECM or 1st gear lockout switches are in the loop. and the solenoid is getting power.
any ideas? Im sort of leaning towards the crap in the pan being disturbed and plugging the pressure switch.. but since it takes a joint act of God and congress to get this car A. high enough for me to get under it and work and B. level to fill it up.. I want to check everything while Im there. (I do have the FSM but i figure theres experience out there that may help as well.) Car is a 1985 and as far as i know the OD is original.

Thanks i will definitely check for that.. Is there a way to check the pressure switch? or to pull it and clean it? (Im assuming it has an orifice in it like an oil pressure sender).
