Anyone running nitrious on their fairly stock automatic corvette?Does a tune need to be done? Can my 94 fairly stock auto vette be able to handle it?If so what is the most reliable shot I can use(50hp,100hp,etc)?I never installed nitrious on a car.Is it pretty straight forward?I'm kinda broke now & thought about installing a kit since heads & cam is out of my budget. If I decided to just do a cam & rockers would I notice a big seat of the pants improvement? My buddys 2005 Dodge Neon SRT4 stage 1 kicked my azz & I want revengeI think with another 40hp I would beat him.Whats your guys opinion? My buddys car is nice but need to winI helped him fix up his car & now its faster.Maybe I should unfix it or pull one of his plug wires offI have video of the race if anyone wants to see it?I also always beat him from a stop but he slowly walks away from me from a rolling start

With my 86, at first...it was fairly stock. I was using a 50 shot of wet nitrous with no problem. I didn't change the timing on it at all. I then bumped it up to a 100 shot and went about 3 rounds down the track until it blew the transmission. I did manage a 8.22 on the 1/8th mile before it died.

Now i've got a built 350 with a 3000 stall in it, totally screams now. Did a 8 flat the other day.

I have run it successfully for 15 years. Based on your statement above (that I highlighted in red), I would recommend avoiding it. When NOS is right, it is reliable and you will go fast, like it or not.
When things go wrong, they fail hard and fast.
By your own words, you are kinda broke. Live with being runner up.

I've been running a 125 shot in my 95 for a few years. I don't abuse it though. For the first few months it's a little hard not too of course. I also installed a new cam last year. The heads are next.

I'm on my third transmision and Torque Converter. This time it's built right. Also some bad U-joints. I'm not sure how much the extra hit contributed. That goes with any big mods though. Other parts are going to suffer.

If you are going to do nitrous, do it right! Get all the extra saftey stuff, pull some timing if using a large shot, and don't abuse it too much. You should be find.

I think you would also notice a big improvement with the right cam and some other mods. Another 40+ hp is definitly possible.

Thanks for all the reliesBy broke I mean I can swing $400-$500.Would I have to pull timing for a 100hp shot?Does my computer have a limiter?I ask because under heavy(WOT) accel it revs to the max on the rpm gauge. If it does, what is the limiter set at?I may go with a 50hp shot to see how it goes when the time comes.I've never been in a car with nitrious but I just met a guy that works at one of the auto parts I deal with who has nitrious on his 2001 Lexus GS400.Its one of the best looking GS400s I ever seen(body kit, carbon fiber hood, rims, etc).I'm going to have him take me for a ride this weekend. He said hes been running nitrious on his stock engine & drivetrain for 3 years with no problems.I'm going to edit the video of the SRT4 & I so my license plate is not shown

Anything over a 100 shot will need timing changed. I tried a 120 and my times went down...lowered it back to a 100 and times picked up. 50 is really the safest IMO
