Anybody ever have the fan run all the time?
It has done it twice, turned off the engine and fans kept going, touched the fan relay connector and fan went off. The connector looks burnt and does anytbody know where to get a new one and has this happened to anybody else?
Nobody, also one of the relay connectors is pretty much melted away. I have a short somewhere, just do not know where.
Anybody know where to start looking?
Whenever you ask for help, always include the year Corvette you have. All C4's are not made exactly alike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The fans draw quite a bit of current. I measured mine on my 87 and it was 24 amps. Most likely your fan relay contacts have welded shut. Unplug the fan relay and measure the resistance across the relay contacts. If they are open circuit, then connect 12v to the relay coil and see if the relay works properly.
For the connectors, take a relay into a chain parts store with a HELP! aisle. They have lots of common GM connectors on J-hooks there. Be kind and use solder and shrink tube when you splice in the new connector.
