I got the Performance Friction Carbon Metallic (Not Z-Rated) pads for my '90 last week. They were $58, the Z-Rated were $69. So far I like them alot. Much better than the pads that were on the car when I bought it (whatever they were). I didn't get the Z-Rated because this is just a stock daily driver car and I don't autocross anymore, and rarely go to the drags, so I didn't want to lose any more cold performance than I had to.

I haven't noticed dust yet, have not had them long enough to know. No squeeling at all so far.

I replaced the rotors at the same time and did my 'bed-in' procedure when I put the new pads/rotors on. I take the car to about 45mph, then slow quickly to about 10mph, slowly get back to 45 and let it cool for about 30 seconds, then stomp on them quickly again. I do this about 10 times then let the car sit overnight to let the brakes completely cool. I've done this on three cars when I do pads/rotors at the same time and have never had squeeling brakes.

On wednesday I took the car on the highway and went 130mph and braked aggressively and they slowed the car down very nicely! From 130 to about 80 very quickly and smoothly. Did that two or three times and noticed no fade when I got off the highway and tried to stop. The old pads wouldn't take that kind of abuse. They would fade after a few 'panic' stops. These just seemed to grab and grab no matter how much I rode them.

So far I'm happy with them! :D

I have the Z-rated. They don't seem to work well when cold, but when they get warmed up they are awesome. I get some squealing out of them but there's nothing a 100mph slam on the brakes can't cure for that :D.

Braking is a great improvement over stock, mine don't squeal a bit. They do however make dust, but it wipes off easily at every wash.
