I have them on my 92, they work very well ... but under hard braking on my non-slotted rotors they tend to chatter and make a lot of black dust. The best thing that I like about them is ... the hotter they get the harder they grab. I don't particularly like the dust, but cleaning the wheels is less expensive then wrecking the car. You may want to do a search on similar posts pertaining to this subject ... because I have seen other responses to your question and possibly other pads with similar chacteristics as Performance Friction pads.

Brian

To summarize:
braking -> good
dusting -> bad

In my case they dusted so incredibly that I pulled them, tossed them in the trash, and ate the lifetime warranty. This was after a 4 hours of intense labor trying to get the fused on dust off the wheels (it wipes down easy if you wash frequently, but I don't).

You have to figure out what you want. If you don't like dust get the OEM pads. Small dust, little squeel. PFZ work good, but will dust and squeel.

After that, there are a million aftermarket pad companies. Most of the stuff is marketing.

I have Carbon / Kevlar / Metalic's on my car now. Expensive but good pads. There are folks working on Carbon / Ceramic pads that look good but also expensive.

PF Z rated are a good buy (read cheap). Bed them properly and they don't squeel too much.

All depends upon what you want.

I agree with the opinions above. You must choose shiny wheels or good braking. You can not get PFC-Z braking performance from a dustless ceramic or OEM type pad at ANY price. The PFC-Z's definitely dust and brake and last, compared to other street pads.

I have the Z-rated PF's on my Vette, not the carbon metallics.
yes, they do dust like crazy but they stop really well when warm. Stop GREAT when hotter. I don't have a problem with them ruining the finish, I have chrome wheels. I Like them.

I have PF Z's as well. Love them-performance and price.

If there is lots of dust on the wheels then time to wash the car I say:)

Got em too and they dust up a bit. Dust will fuse to wheel as I have had that problem as well. Stop great and only ocassionally squeal, but sometimes it is so bad I think I am ruining my rotors. They haven't made a sound in over 3 weeks now. Could be because of some cooler weather right now??? :seeya

I have Ceramix on my 93 very little dusting,what there is whitesh gray can't notice. You can get them at Napa ,althought Pep Boys sells some kind of Ceramix. If you want to get them from NAPA page Mr. Mojo ,he's a moderator for Northeast Event section he hooked me up wiith a NAPA dealer in Toms River who was substantialy cheaper then my local Napa. Good Luck Jim

Mine dust as well, but have had absolutely no problems with it sticking to the wheels. Even after lots of track miles/time/dirt/rain for two weeks-still came right off.

I've got the PFs on my car too. I'm willing to trade some brake dust for better braking. I love 'em. IMO I think they're excellent pads for the cash.

Yes, they are worth it.

Changed to PFZ pads when I changed to J55 brake option (13"). Might be the best mod that I've done.

Braking is outstanding. Not much dusting in normal driving. Wheels clean up quickly & easily. No problems. Highly recommended.

I've used them on two previous vehicles. A 93 Ford Taurus that would hardly stop if it had to even when new. The change was miraculous. Brakes actually felt great and the hotter the pad the better the stop. I used them on my 88 Ford Ranger pickup as well. There was some dusting, but washed easily off the coated wheels. My Grand Prix is getting them when it needs pads. Not sure if they make any for the Vette though. Seems 86 and a year or two either side have very little selection beyond stock.

I have them on my '94... great stopping, a little squeal, and lots of dust! I'm going for the Ceramix this spring.

With the combo of Kumho's, SS lines, and new Redstuff pads...it feels like a GP car every time I use the brakes...and I wash my car pretty often, as well as wax the car and wheels every month. Now I need the eradispeeds!

I tried the PFCs. They squealed like heck and the dust was terrible. I dumped them and went with GM pads.

I don't particularly like the dust, but cleaning the wheels is less expensive then wrecking the car.
When I first put the ZR1 style brakes on my '92 about four years ago, I tried the PF pads. At first, I was just extremely annoyed at the dust. Then, one day it rained, and spotted the black dust with water. I didn't get a chance to wash the car for a day or two. When I did wash the wheels, I noticed the dust and water combination started to etch the paint. The only way I could eliminate the marks was with rubbing compound -- which takes some paint off.
After 2000 miles on the PF pads, I took them back to AutoZone and got a standard set.
To me, there is no doubt that the PF pads increase braking performance substantially; but, I won't let them ruin my wheels.

I now, as of yesterday, have the C5 brakes with ceramic pads on my '92. After using the PF pads on the J55 brakes, I think PF pads with the C5 brakes would be an exceptional combination -- but, I won't even try them, I like my AFS wheels too much. Besides, the red Z06 calipers won't look good dusty.

I've got the PF Z's on my car. I think it was like $130 for the entire car. They do dust, but they stop. I don't know about you guys, but my car is my daily driver, so I'm hard pressed to keep it clean for a week anyway. Thus when I have to clean it, it's no big deal to clean the wheels again. Just a damp cloth will wipe it right off.

They squeal a little when they are warm as well, but they stop and stop well. They take heat VERY well. For example I was at the track and made about 6 back to back passes, when I crossed the traps on the last pass, my brake pedal fell to the floor? I had boiled my brake flluid. This wasn't totally unexpected, being that the fluid was original, I'm sure the boiling point was low. The point being that the pads never started to fade at all, they felt great until the fluid actually boiled. So, get some really good fluid and flush your system when you install these pads, you won't be disappointed.
