You can remove the AIR system without any problems with your car. The Elim bracket is sold by TPiS. There are MANY threads on this, do a search for TONS of info on each. Some folks actually make their own or just gut the pump housing.

Lots of people have eliminated the air pump believing that will improve performance. Actually the air pump creates very little drag, you won't notice any difference. The best way I know to eliminate parasitic drag on your engine is to install an aluminum U D pulley system. March makes a black three pulley set called the Power & Amp 3 pulley set. I installed this set on my 1989 and it works great without reducing alternator output. Also, if you haven't removed the frisbee on your car do that as well. I decided to leave my emissions system on with no regrets.
