Interior Lights - No Shut Off

Interior Lights - No Shut Off
96 Coupe LT1
The interior lights do not shut off.
I checked the radio and it does shut off when you open the door.
I checked the door plungers and they seem to be fine.
What else should I check?
The PKE is acting strange to the point where I don't hear the horn sound or the doors lock as I walk away. Started this morning at work. Had to come back to the car, open and close the door for it to sound.

It's the dimmer switch....but I've always had in the full up top position. To get the light to shut off I have to slide it back a bit...but then the lights stay off even when you open the door..??

...well it seems to be working ok now. Just went out to the garage (dimmer switch was still just below the top where I left it to get the light off), key in pocket, the doors unlocked, and interior lights came on. Opened door...closed door...walked away...doors locked..horn sounded...then lights went out.
I did notice and then has been happening for a few days, that the door lock/horn doesn't always activate. I then have to walk back to the car, open door, close and try it again. Bad battery in the key remote?
Still don't understand how the lights decided today to stay on even though I've had the dimmer in the max and beyond since day one. Never a problem before.
