Default Sweet Thunder Exhaust

Does anyone run the Sweet Thunder Exhaust on their C4?
For $470 I am tempted to try it out but I would hate to waste my money on an exhaust with too much resonance...
Does anyone have or know of any sound-clips/videos of this setup?
Im trying to get as much info as possibe before I spend the $$$!!!

Thanks

I did not have those, but I did have straight pipes for a while on my 86. It was loud and had no character.

Those look like chambered pipes should sound like a mid year side exhaust. If you find the system with too much resonance you could have a rear balance tube welded on which would help.

I saw a C4 LT1 Vette dyno a few years ago with a chambered exhaust. I don't know how it sounded on the inside, but outside it was one of the best sounding C4 exhaust systems that I've heard.

Remember that "good" is a relative term - just like "gorgeous".

I'd bet that system drones like mad under a light load and can be heard 1/2 a mile away at full throttle and redline.

I think Corvette Central has a system like that with mufflers on it that should be quieter with less drone.

You can find sound clips of them, also i think some one here has them.

They are the same as straight pipes, except the little kinks(chambers) are supposed to make is sound meaner.

I bought the SS stright pipes, and some cheap dynomax muffs for a total of like 400, and it is decent. it will not pass smog though.

A pal has the chambered exhaust (which he got from mid america) on his LT-4. On the outside, at idle and underway, it sounds awesome.

On the road, with the windows down, it's bearable. With windows up, I can see it taking some getting used to.

Thanks! I think I am just going to try eliminators for my DD. I will get them bolted on so I can still throw on the stock mufflers for the winter or inspection
