Are C4's 'Matching Numbers'?
Well during my R and R of engine and trans of 96 LT4 I came across the VIN stamped on both the engine block and the ZF6 trans.
This subject isn't talked about much-not really important for like 20 years, but interesting just the same.
My engine was stamped in the rearmost driverside head surface and the trans was identified on the driveside vertically on the rear tailshaft piece.
Now that I know mine are original...I need to go see how my HOT cam conversion runs and see if I can blow it up:):):)
Just kidding.

I believe that tour engine should have the matching sequence # as the last 5 digits of your VIN.
[Edit for spelling.]
