I've had no problems running a 125 shot.

Just remember one thing about the 85 - there is NO REV LIMITER - that's is why an aftermarket ignition sytem can be a good investment, it saved me a few times. I prefer a a naturally aspirated motor but that is just me. Sounds like the window switch can be a good investment as well. Good luck with your decision - the 85 is a strong motor to play with.

What I like to do is build a powerful engine N/A and a holy hell engine with the nos. And when you start with a strong engine, you really don't need the nos. But when you spray... hang on. 0-60mph 2.1 seconds. 0-108mph 6 seconds. That is with a DA of 7000+ft.

I just use my 100 shot at the track, and it's the fastest ive got her down the drag strip. Plus the crowd loves to see a vette sprayn' and purging out the shark vents. I put LED's on mine so it blows red lit smoke at night.

I know, im a showboater

In the last few weeks, I won 2 bracket races, each one going 7 rounds. If I had nitrous, how many bottles would I have needed?. The answer is less than 1; it's hard to go more than a couple of rounds of bracket racing with nitrous because it is too inconsistant. As the bottle empties, there is another variable to factor in along with the 10 other things to establish a dial in. It is good for show and for establishing a personal best though.

Well, nitrous is cheap now but expensive later. For 4 grand, I can have tire melting power all the time and for a long time. Nitrous will nickle and dime you to death in the long run. So if you are like me and romp on it several times a day, you get to the long run part sooner. I romp on it several times a day so figure out how much it will cost me a year. After a time, I can buy a supercharger and some.

True enough I am looking into a couple of things maybe a procharger that seems to be a pretty good bang for the buck.

When I go to races, I see the difference between weekenders, (like most guys here), compared to the(not the big dogs) but real street strip cars, that have several big bottles on hand, not little 10lb bottles playing with a 100 shot, that quickly fades away.

They do it right, and it works. It also = way more cash.

they change them out after maybe 2 runs, empty or not.

Will you run it on that car? that thing looks nuts already.

You're right about the big boys and their nitrous. These guys aren't really bracket guys but killer et guys and they are serious and so is their $$$. I've got my car running really consistant now and running 10.60s-10.70s and don't really need to go quicker (right, believe that). I prefer normally aspirated hp. Next project is a vacuum system for another 10th or so.

A friend of mine has been using a 125hp shot of Nitrous on his stock 2002 Lexus GS400 for over 3 years with no problems. He just put a performance torque converter in his car a week or so ago.He runs 13.3 in the quarter. We raced many times this last weekend & his car was a beast on the highway.I beat him over & over from a stop with my fairly stock 1994 auto vette coupe(ported mass airflow sensor housing,160 degree thermostat, deleted resonator,& cut air box).My car also has the factory perform. axle(3.07).I think in the quarter I might be around 13.6-13.8 because I beat him for awhile & he may catch & pass me by the end of the quarter.I also took vid of these races(from a stop). He & another buddy that was in the Lexus have Nitrous on their cars & keep telling me to get Nitrous & my car will be fast.I plan on getting Nitrous & running a 50hp shot & max out at a 100shot.I only need it for 2nd on as I can launch my car pretty well from a stop.By the way he killed me from a roll on the highway(20mph to 80mph).

you want nitrous to be on right from the start, you gotta remember we have high torque, low rpm engines. The most gains will be at low RPM

Having nitrous isn't like in Fast & Furious.
