you want nitrous to be on right from the start, you gotta remember we have high torque, low rpm engines. The most gains will be at low RPM
Just curious.. How are you hooking up at the track?
On a 125 shot I spin all day if I spray off the line. Sure I can add some slicks but I wouldnt expect the Dana 36 to last long. I typically cut 1.8-1.9 60's with street tires then spray it once I'm in second. I know theres a hell of a lot more in it but I refuse to spray out of the hole until I can change the rear.

i've been cuttin 1.6's on 60 foot. I've got the new hoosier slicks (the one with the two lines in the tread for DOT) They hook SO much better than the Mickey Thompsons I had on before....like night/day difference. I also have a turbo 350 tranny built with a 3000 stall which helps im sure. Ive had no probs with the rear end....yet. Im sure its just a matter of time

Good to know about the tires. .3 more off the 60 would be a big help. I was considering a rear set of the MT's. I've received two recomendations recently for the hoosiers though. It sounds like they may be the way to go. My problem is that currently the closest track is 1.5 hrs away. I dont think, for that distance, the hoosiers would be a good idea.
My trans is definately built to take the abuse. I'm on my third one but had it built right this time. I'm also on my third Torque Converter with the Vigilante. I've been lucky so far with the rear. I've only had to replace U joints. That's the biggest problem people have with nitrous. It's usually not damage to the engine itself but damage to all the other parts from the added hit and power. If it's set up correctly.

Yeah, the tranny set me back a bit. But I wanted it built exactly for an 1/8th mile track. I only live 20 miles from the track so its not that bad. I even take it out on the interstate and drive 200+ miles, no problems! I just take it easy on the turns, and make sure it isnt going to rain I have been stuck once out in the rain with them, and surprisingly it wasnt too bad, I was able to do 40-50 without sliding. Probably not the smartest thing i've ever done, but ive even driven in the snow with them...that was, uh...interesting
