Default Help! Headlight repair

I read the sticky on headlight repair but it seems to apply to later C4's and honestly, I'm stuck ( no pun intended).
THE PROBLEM: the passenger side headlight motor does not turn off with the head light switch off. It turns off with the switch on but without any control. There was nothing wrong with these headlights before. I took out the entire headlight assembly and found that from the actuator motor there is a shaft that ends in a tee, that recesses into the plastic housing where the bulb goes. This area is worn down, causing the shaft to free spin. Is it normal for the motor to run even with the headlight switch off? Do I need to replace the housing? Can I get by by filling in the worn out area with something like JB Weld? If not, can anybody suggest where I can obtain the headlamp housing? Thanks, and please hurry before my battery goes dead! (Just kidding; I had to disconnect the battery).

No experience with the doors, but you may find this useful.

86 scores again!. The tee fits into the gear that spins the head light assembly if I am understanding what your trying to state. The motor knows when to shut off when the assembly is completely closed or open meeting resistance when it stops. If the slot the tee sits in is worn or broken or the teeth on the gear are stripped, it will never build the resistance to know when to shut off.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Agent 86 & HllhnEast; I don't think its a electrical problem but rather, a mechanical one. The tee has no material to grab hold of the housing in order to to flip the headlight door. I don't see any gear involvement in the plastic housing, so I think the slot is the only thing attaching the tee to the housing. The motor continuing to run with the headlight switch off seems to be normal, since it does not meet resistance to stop. Can anyone suggest where I can obtain this hosuing? It seems to

The motor running after headlights are switched off, is not normal.
There are limit switches inside, that are tripped at the end of cycle. I have never opened one up, so I can't offer real experience, but my guess is a switch is not being switched, or a relay is not funtioning properly.
