I just installed a new master cylinder, and although I "bench bled" the cylinder I would like to bleed from each caliper as well. Are there any special precautions, re: the ABS? Is bleeding straightforward, like any other braking system?
Thanks, Rich
I have an 88 and when I removed the master cylinder on my car, I bench bled it before reinstalling the part. Then I did a straight forward 4 wheel brake bleed. I did the bleeding cycle twice just to make sure I had a firm brake pedal.
1st, Right rear wheel
2nd, Left rear wheel
3rd, Right front wheel
4th, Left front wheel
Then I did a quick repeat of the bleed cycle and everything worked out fine.
When I upgraded to J55 option brakes (13") I flushed the complete system and used new fluid. Did it in a short amount of time and by myself because I installed speed bleeders on all 4 calipers at time of upgrade. Bleeding the brakes was "speedy" and quite easy ... definitely worth changing over for me. I think I got them from Summit.
